Cymer Inc., a San Diego supplier of deep ultraviolet (DUV) light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing, named Daniel Dunn as vice president of customer satisfaction. He will oversee field service and technical support, documentation and training. Dunn joins Cymer from Novellus Systems, where he held senior management positions. Before that, he held technical management positions in the semiconductor division at Texas Instruments. . . . Edmund Optics Inc. has installed a custom aspheric manufacturing unit at its Pennsburg, Pa., facility, to produce high-departure aspheric geometries that can be manufactured in glass, ceramic or crystalline materials. The facility houses advanced aspheric grinding and polishing capabilities and MRF (magnetorheological) finishing technology. . . . Trumpf Inc., a Farmington, Conn., maker of fabricating machinery and industrial lasers, and a subsidiary of the Germany-based Trumpf Group, has named James Rogowski as product manager of its laser cutting and automation groups and Mike Morissette as product manager of its punching and bending groups in North America. Rogowski will oversee the North American sales of Trumpf’s high-speed flatsheet laser cutting machines and laser tube-cutting machines and continue to manage automation systems sales. Before being promoted to product manager in 2003, Rogowski was a product engineer in Trumpf’s automated systems group. He joined the company in 1998 as an applications engineer. Morissette lead Trumpf’s North American press brake sales and will continue to manage sales of high-speed punching machines. Morissette started with Trumpf Inc. in November 1995 as an applications engineer and has been product manager for punching machines since January 2000.
