Molecular Imprints Inc. (MII), an Austin, Texas, manufacturer of nanolithography systems for high resolution and for 3-D pattern replication, announced sales of its Imprio 55 system to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Molecular Foundry, the University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) and the Pennsylvania State Nanofabrication Facility, (Penn State Nanofab) and of its Imprio 100 tool to the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC) at UT-Austin. Molecular Foundry is a facility for the design, synthesis and characterization of nanoscale materials. The PSU Nanofab is a facility for processing substrates as large as six inches in diameter, and Penn State Nanofab is a cleanroom facility that offers expertise in nanofabrication. Grant Willson's research group at UT-Austin purchased the Imprio 55 to support nanofabrication projects and conduct materials research. The MRC will use the Imprio 100 as a teaching tool and for research into integrated circuit devices, optoelectronics, nanophotonics and biosensors. . . . Pro-Lite Technology LLP, a Cranfield, England, distributor of lasers, photonic products and light measuring equipment, has appointed Archer OpTx, of Rowlett, Texas, as its sales representative for the UK and Ireland. Archer OpTx specializes in custom and volume manufacturing of aspheric lenses, including precision-machined aspheres and molded optics from 2 mm to 60 cm in diameter and is a source for replacement Kodak molded glass lenses, which are used in high-volume applications such as barcode scanners and collimated diode laser modules.
