Photop and Pavilion Join to Develop Lasers

Photop Technologies Inc. and Pavilion Integration Corp. will jointly develop and manufacture red, green and blue lasers for the biotechnology, graphics and metrology markets. Pavilion, of Fremont, Calif., will work on innovative designs and provide global marketing and product support, while Photop, based in Fuzhou, China, will use its manufacturing expertise to produce cost-competitive lasers.

In other business, Photop has allied with Primanex Corp. of Qingdao, China, a designer and producer of magneto-optical switches, switch modules and electrically tunable variable optical attenuators, among other items. The arrangement enables Photop to enhance its OEM product offerings and Primanex to extend its manufacturing capability.
