An eight-page brochure from Bookham titled “ColorLoc Optical Components” describes the company’s color wheels, light pipes, front surface mirrors, antireflection coatings, dichroic and UV/IR filters, and light projector technologies, including liquid crystal display, liquid crystal on silicon and digital light processing. The patented AEDIII (advanced energetic deposition) thin-film optical coating technology is highlighted, along with applications such as microdisplay color projection systems. Its benefits, such as sharp transition between reflecting and transmitting color regions, and enhanced brightness, saturation, color purity and contrast ratio, also are outlined.
