MULTIPHYSICS MODELS

With “The Electronic Kit CD” from Comsol Inc., engineers are introduced to multiphysics modeling and simulation using the Femlab software package. The interactive disc contains a 12-minute movie in which a model that examines a surface-mount circuit is built, while determining the heat effects of a voltage regulator on a nearby integrated circuit. The movie reviews major phases of the modeling process, including geometry creation, defining the physics, generating the mesh, solving the problem, and visualizing and evaluating the results. Users can open and explore eight Femlab models with the multiphysics viewer application provided.
