CTC Communications provides Internet and telephone services over its fiber optic-based network to business customers throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Connecticut Broadband is a provider of Internet, data and voice services in Connecticut; it was formed in 2004 from the merger of Connecticut Telephone and Partner Communications.
CTC said this investment "will provide Connecticut businesses and municipalities with a financially strong and customer-focused telecommunications partner by combining Connecticut Broadband's experience in data networking with CTC's success in implementing business-grade voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) services."
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This is the second major acquisition by Connecticut Broadband in less than six months; it bought Lightship Telecom in May.
