Till Photonics Wins Award for Live-Cell Screening
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has awarded Till Photonics GmbH €2.5 million for its biophotonics network proposal. The Gräfelfing-based company’s live-cell screening project, which commenced activities in June, brings together German academic institutions and biotechnology, optoelectronics and electromechanics companies.
The network will work to develop a novel screening platform for substances in the pharmaceutical industry. Its goal is to observe multiple cellular parameters in a single measurement, with an increase in the sensitivity and selectivity, and to achieve the same throughput with a multiple-parameter platform as with a single-parameter system.
