GSI Changes Its Name

GSI Lumonics Inc. of Billerica, Mass., has changed its name to GSI Group Inc. and has listed a new trading symbol, GSIG, on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The business will continue to be led by the same management team. In conjunction with the name change, GSI intends to place more emphasis on individual brands, including its MicroE Systems motion products, Spectron lasers and WaferMark laser systems. Its offerings have applications in the medical, electronics, industrial and semiconductor markets.
