Task Force Explores OSA/SPIE Merger
Two of the leading optics societies, SPIE and the Optical Society of America (OSA) are considering a closer collaboration or merger.
Representatives from each society met in Washington to discuss their respective goals and identify trends in optics. They also compared the groups' activities and adopted a full merger model as a starting point. The task force is considering six collaboration approaches, ranging from joint projects to a full merger.
