WALLINGFORD, Conn., Oct. 13 -- Amphenol Corp., a producer of electronic and fiber optic connectors, cable and interconnect systems for communications, industrial/automotive and military/aerospace applications, has agreed to buy Teradyne Inc.'s Connection Systems div. for approximately $390 million in cash. The sale is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions and is expected to be final in the fourth quarter.

Teradyne Connection Systems (TCS), headquartered in Nashua, N.H., is a supplier of high-speed, high-density connectors, high-performance printed circuit boards and backplane interconnect systems. TCS has annual sales of approximately $380 million and sells its products primarily to the data communications, storage and server, wireless infrastructure and industrial markets.
