Goodrich Corp. has completed a $60 million cash transaction for the acquisition of Sensors Unlimited Inc. that includes a 39,000-square-foot leased facility in Princeton, N.J., and more than 50 employees in manufacturing and engineering positions. Goodrich said the new business enables it to provide in-house manufacturing capabilities for advanced infrared cameras and short-wave infrared and near-infrared focal plane arrays used in military, security, industrial, commercial and telecommunications markets for applications including covert surveillance, night vision and health and safety protocols and historical art inspection. These technologies are now part of Goodrich's existing Optical and Space Systems Div. . . . Luxtron Corp., a provider of fiber optic and optical temperature measurement solutions to industrial, medical, semiconductor, optoelectronics and electric power industries, is offering annual National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-traceable temperature calibration service for its Fluoroptic temperature measurement products at its laboratory in Gaithersburg, Md. The annual system calibration (instrument, probes and extensions) and system check service is available on previously purchased Luxtron instruments (FOT Lab Kit, Biomedical Lab Kit, I652 and m600 OEM module), probes and extensions. Initial NIST-traceable temperature calibration of new Luxtron instruments, probes and extensions, and of calibration of previously purchased Legacy products (models 710, 712, 790 and m3100), is also available.
