DOD Renews Funding to Princeton Lightwave
Princeton Lightwave Inc. of Cranbury, N.J., has received additional funding from the US Department of Defense’s High Energy Laser Joint Technology Office to further develop scalable eye-safe solid-state lasers using InP diode pumping with ultralow photon defect. Central to the program is the development of stacks of InP diode pump laser arrays with very high output powers. In this second year of program support, the company and its partners at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphia, Md., expect to demonstrate a 1-kW eye-safe Er:YAG laser.
