Ortec Signs Agreement for Radiation Detection Technology
Based in Oak Ridge, Tenn., Ortec Products Group of Ametek Advanced Measurement Technology has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with the University of California’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for the RadScout radiation detection technology. Since signing a nonexclusive agreement with the laboratory two years ago, the company has incorporated the technology into its Ortec Detective family of advanced nuclide identifiers. First responders, hazardous-material handlers, fire departments, government authorities and others can use the detectors to screen objects for potentially dangerous nuclear material.
