Sabeus Secures Aragon Technologies
In California, acoustic sensing and telecommunications subsystems supplier Sabeus Inc. of Calabasas has purchased Aragon Technologies Inc. of Van Nuys. The acquired company, founded in 2002, has developed a narrow-linewidth, low-phase-noise laser that is immune to the frequency output instability typical of lasers operating in extreme environments. Sabeus will integrate the device into its surface readout units, which interrogate the company’s fiber optic towed arrays, perimeter security and subsurface sensing systems. The technology has oil field and military applications.
