Nuvonyx Buys Thales Laser Diode
BRIDGETON, Mo., Nov. 11 -- Nuvonyx, a manufacturer of high-power direct-diode laser components, subsystems and sources for use in aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing and research applications, has acquired Thales Laser Diode (TLD), a laser division of Paris Orsay, France-based Thales Group, and will change its name to Nuvonyx Europe SA.
"This acquisition will allow us to expand our product line to now offer both actively and passively cooled CW (continuous wave) and QCW (quasi continuous wave) laser diode devices. This acquisition also provides Nuvonyx with an immediate strategic presence in the European market, which is a critical link in our diode component and industrial laser system future growth strategy," said Nuvonyx President and CEO Mark Zediker in a written statement.
