Hudson, N.H.-based Presstek Inc., a manufacturer of digital imaging solutions for the graphic arts and laser imaging markets, has made three additions to its executive team: Emile Tabassi (vice president, North American sales), Joe Musgrave (vice president, North American service) and Ron Cardone (chief information officer). Presstek President and CEO Ed Marino said the executives were added to the management team as part of Presstek's integration of print solutions and services provider ABDick, which it acquired in 2004, and its evolution into a single operating business unit. . . . Sensor Platforms Inc. of Santa Rosa, Calif, a fabless semiconductor company providing standardized integrated circuits to the sensor industry, announced the closing of a $6.6 million round of venture funding. The financing was led by venture capital firms ArrowPath Venture Partners and Newbury Ventures, and the proceeds will be used for product development and market expansion. The company is targeting sensor application developers in the wireless, automotive, consumer electronics and other high-volume markets dominated by MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) -based sensor solutions. Newbury Ventures cofounder Bruce Bauer and Dan Brown, technology partner of ArrowPath Venture Partners, have joined the Sensor Platforms board of directors. . . . Intevac Inc., a provider of extreme low-light imaging sensors, cameras and systems with headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., has opened its Shenzhen field operations office in China. Intevac CEO Kevin Fairbairn says the office will help it to expand in the Asian market and support its customer in the region, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. Fairbairn says the company plans to open another office in Thailand in 2006 and begin manufacturing and engineering products in Asia.
