As part of a market expansion plan, Kaleido Technology ApS of Farum, Denmark, a manufacturer of OEM discrete and integrated optical components and subsystems, has appointed Jesper Wolf Bek as its new CEO. Bek, most recently with Intel Corp., as held senior sales and marketing positions in Europe and Asia. The company also announced that Jesper Boie Rasmussen, previous CEO of Kaleido Technology, will remain a member of Kaleido Technology's core staff as chief technology officer.    . . .    Lumenis, an Israel-based maker of laser and light-based devices for medical, aesthetic, ophthalmic, dental and veterinary applications, announced that it has received FDA clearance to market its Novus 3000, a 532-nm diode-pumped, solid-state photocoagulator. The laser is used by ophthalmologists to treat several retinal conditions that can lead to vision loss and blindness. Lumenis also received FDA clearance to market what it says is the world's first and only coaxial multicolor laser indirect ophthalmoscope, designed for the delivery of photocoagulator laser energy during ophthalmic surgery.    . . .    Nanomix Inc. of Emeryville, Calif., a maker of scaleable, nanoelectronic devices for industrial and medical applications, has added Gregory T. Schiffman to the company's board of directors. Schiffman is currently the executive vice president and CFO of Affymetrix in Santa Clara, Calif, a manufacturer of microarrays used in molecular biology research.
