Dow Corning Forms Light Management Group
Dow Corning Corp. of Midland, Mich., will move its Photonics Solutions business development program into its Electronics business to address the needs of its customers in the optoelectronics market. The company will increase its sales, marketing and product development activities to create light management applications for the display, automotive and telecommunications markets. Its Light Management group is designed to help customers worldwide develop and commercialize applications that rely on the emission, transmission, amplification, detection, modulation and switching of light. The group will initially focus on commercializing encapsulants and lenses for LEDs as well as on materials for optical assemblies, fiber optics and light pipe/guidance applications.
