Companies Ally for Solid-State Lighting
TT electronics Optek Technology of Carrollton, Texas, and Lednium, an LED technology company based in Mooroolbark, Victoria, Australia, have formed an R&D, manufacturing and marketing relationship to strengthen their presence in the solid-state lighting industry. Under terms of the agreement, Optek will develop solid-state lighting products using Lednium’s packaging technology.
The Optek Lednium series will include single-chip cup-packaged discrete LED lighting units and multichip, geodesic-dome-shaped, 10-W LED assemblies. The products will have applications in such areas as automotives, aviation, display and architectural lighting. The companies intend to develop other technologies for markets ranging from medical applications to security equipment.
