Kailight Photonics Funding Round Raises $4.5M for TASR Line
DALLAS, Jan. 18, 2006 -- Kailight Photonics Inc., a developer of optical modules for the global telecommunications industry, announced today the first closing of its Series B funding round with an investment of $4.5 million, bringing the company’s total venture funding to $14.5 million (not including strategic grants). The company is also in discussions with potential investors on a scheduled second round to Series B.
Kailight’s latest funding round was led by new investor Hyperion Venture Partners and an unnamed strategic investor. All of Kailight’s current investors also participated in this round, including Lucent Venture Partners, The Yozma Group, Ofer Hi-Tech, Peregrine Ventures and Plentyum.
Kailight officials say the funding will be used to support the manufacture and sales of the company's TASR (tunable all-optical signal regenerator) product line, as well as help launch several new products in the near future.
