Brande was named chairman of International Standards Organization Technical Committee 209 (ISO/TC 209), Cleanrooms and Associated Controlled Environments. The appointment, which was effective Jan. 1, is for 2006 to 2011. The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology is secretariat of ISO/TC 209, which develops and maintains the ISO 14644 and 14698 series of cleanroom standards. Brande is president and founder of Contamination Control Technologies Inc., which provides cleanroom and biological safety cabinet certifications and performs international consulting services to the pharmaceutical, medical device and biomedical research industries. . . . Ivo Associates, a Cambridgeshire, England-based business development company, announced it has launched an optics sourcing Web site at www.optics-solutions.co.uk. The site, which the company said is managed by optics professionals, promotes project management, design, manufacturing and sales distribution services involving components used in a wide variety of applications, including mobile phones, instrumentation, displays, sensors and printing systems.
