Cymer Funds Scholarships
Cymer Inc. of San Diego has awarded $175,000 to the Jacobs School of Engineering Scholars Program at the University of California, San Diego. The allotment will fund a $100,000 scholarship and a $75,000 fellowship to an undergraduate and graduate student, respectively. The recipients will be selected from the university’s fall 2006 engineering applicants, based on academic merit, leadership, community service involvement and strong interest in research.
The gift was presented to commemorate Cymer’s 20th anniversary. The company supplies deep-UV light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing.
