Agilent Opens Custom Optics Shop to Outsiders
Electronic test and measurement product maker Agilent Technologies Inc. of Palo Alto, Calif., today announced that its in-house precision optics shop is now available for external customers to use in designing and manufacturing their products. Agilent said it developed the ability to make high-precision optical components and optomechanical assemblies to support its laser interferometer business. Now it will work with customers to provide design and production of flat and monolithic custom optics. Uses for precision optics include many nanotechnology applications, as well as lithography systems, medical and scientific instruments, optical fabrication equipment, lasers, astronomy, metrology systems, process-control systems, optical test and measurement equipment and interferometers.
