Robotic Vision Systems Wins Suit
A California court has upheld Hauppauge, N.Y.-based
Robotic Vision Systems Inc.'s claim that
View Engineering Inc. of Simi Valley, Calif., a subsidiary of
General Scanning Inc. of Watertown, Mass., has infringed upon its patent relating to inspection of ball grid array semiconductor package substrates. As part of the agreement, View Engineering will cease making, selling or offering to sell inspection machines to customers in the US. The inspection machines include patented software to perform the inspections.
View also is required to provide its customers with new software that doesn't infringe on Robotic Vision Systems' patent.
