Franey Joins Quintessence Photonics Corp. as Manufacturing VP
Semiconductor laser maker Quintessence Photonics Corp. (QPC) of Sylmar, Calif., announced today that Timothy Franey has joined the company as vice president of manufacturing, effective May 1. Franey brings over 20 years of high tech manufacturing experience to QPCI, including 12 years with complex laser-based products. Franey joins QPC from JDSU Corp., a provider of high-precision optical products for industrial applications, where he most recently led the integration of JDSU and diode-pumped solid-state laser maker Lightwave Electronics Corp. In the eight years prior, Franey was vice president of operations and a corporate officer at Lightwave. He has also served in various roles at CXR Corp., GTE Government Systems, Atari International, Coherent Medical and Varian's medical and instrument divisions.
