NYC Glass Buys LED Line
Permlight Products announced today it has sold its Edgelit LED business to NYC Glass of Coney Island, N.Y. The companies did not disclose the details of the sale but said future retailer purchases of edgelit displays for point-of-purchase systems can be made from NYC Glass.
Permlight and NYC Glass have jointly provided illuminated Edgelit sign products since 2000. Permlight makes thermally managed LED lighting systems for signage, residential LED lighting (Enbryten), marina docks and slips, and theater and performing arts centers. It is an affiliate member of the California Lighting Technology Center at the University of California, Davis which is funded by the California Energy Commission.
NYC Glass uses a laser routing system to take photographs and artwork and convert it to glass or acrylic at resolutions up to 1200 dpi. Used with its thermally managed LED lighting systems, it saids, the displays are especially suited for retail applications.
