Laser 2000 Opens Rome Subsidiary
Laser 2000 GmbH, a Munich, Germany-based developer of optical technologies, has opened a sales office in Rome, Italy, as part of its European expansion strategy. Armin Luft, managing director of Laser 2000 GmbH, said, "After the government change in Italy, expectations are high that the Italian economy will pick up strongly. In particular, everybody is reckoning on more funds to go into research and development." Beate Sauter, former senior sales manager for Toptica Photonics AG of Gräfelfing, Germany, has joined Laser 2000 to set up the Rome office, where she will be in charge of customer relations. Laser 2000 also has subsidiaries in France, Great Britain, Belgium, Holland and Sweden and is preparing to open a sales office in Spain by the end of the year.
