G-S Plastic Optics Installs Coating Equipment

G-S Plastic Optics, a Germanow-Simon company in Rochester, N.Y., has announced the installation of precision optical coating equipment. The Citation I optical box coater built by Vacuum Process Technology Inc. of Plymouth, Mass., enables the company to apply vacuum-deposited reflective and antireflection coatings on polymer substrates in its existing facility. The coater includes e-beam and resistive evaporation with plasmon ion assist to form low-stress, dense and durable coatings for thin-film requirements.
