Thermo Electron Acquires EGS Gauging
Analytical instruments maker Thermo Electron Corp. announced it has acquired EGS Gauging, a Wilmington, Mass., manufacturer of measurement and control instruments for web processing applications in the plastics processing and converting industries.
Thermo Electron said the acquisition will enable it to make thickness measurement and coating weight gauges for the steel and aluminum industries, enhancing its gauging portfolio for web processing applications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
