Tamron, New Scale Sign Squiggle Motor License
Optics manufacturer Tamron Co. Ltd. of Saitama, Japan, and New Scale Technologies Inc., a Victor, N.Y.-based maker of miniature ceramic motors, have signed a license agreement to use New Scale’s Squiggle motors in Tamron’s optical imaging assemblies, which include digital still cameras, camcorders and mobile phone cameras. Squiggle motors use ultrasonic vibrations to create precise movement.
