Companies to Collaborate on OLED Materials

Universal Display Corp. of Ewing, N.J., and Nippon Steel Chemical Co. Ltd. of Tokyo have announced a collaboration to develop markets for red phosphorescent organic LED (OLED) materials. Together, the former’s red phosphorescent OLED materials and the latter’s host material, NS11, are more efficient than fluorescent red OLEDs and have a long operational lifetime, according to the companies.

Universal Display also is collaborating with Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. of Tokyo to develop materials for phosphorescent OLED displays fabricated by wet processing methods such as ink-jet printing.
