The expansion of Corning NetOptix brings in precision CNC grind and polish capabilities as well as expanded coating capabilities and allows for additional assembly and test space, the company said. "The expansion to the Keene, N.H., facility represents our commitment to the aerospace and defense industry," said John Lucey, vice president and general manager, Corning NetOptix. "This addition will enable us to produce quality refractive components at a competitive price, with shortened lead times. The new internal capabilities enable us to successfully deliver more complex optical-mechanical sensor products." Through its Corning Advanced Optics and Materials businesses, Corning provides advanced optical solutions and other specialty materials for markets including display, semiconductor, aerospace, defense, astronomy, ophthalmic and telecommunications. Corning NetOptix provides optical finishing, diamond-turning for reflective systems, coating and metrology capabilities.
