JPSA Begins Move to New Facility

JP Sercel Associates (JPSA), a supplier of laser micromachining and wafer processing technology, announced it has begun moving into a 35,000-sq-ft facility in Manchester, N.H. (photo below), about a 30-minute drive north from its current headquarters in Hollis. The company, which bought the building last spring, said the relocation was prompted by its need for more office and manufacturing space as a result of growth in its systems manufacturing and job shop services. JPSA operates a high-performance ultraviolet (UV) laser job shop as well as a systems engineering and manufacturing business. Jeffrey P. Sercel, president, said. "Manchester is a vibrant community with a long history of industrial growth and innovation. The proximity of an important regional airport, in addition to the city's pro-business environment, will be conducive to our continued growth and expansion." He said JPSA has "invested heavily" in the new building, from upgrading electrical utilities to building a shipping dock. It will also be the cite of a full-featured job shop for contract laser drilling, wafer processing and micromachining services, Sercel said, and will feature a Class 10000 cleanroom, engineering space, laser service and refurbishment center, and equipment demonstration facility. He said construction will be in two phases: Phase II will entail expanding the new building to 110,000 sq ft to accommodate projected growth over the next five years. JPSA makes UV excimer and DPSS laser micromachining systems, UV and vacuum-UV laser beam delivery systems and provides laser materials processing development, optical damage testing and excimer laser refurbishment services.
