ULVAC to Make JDSU Coating Systems for Asia-Pacific Markets

JDSU, a Milpitas, Calif., provider of broadband test and measurement solutions and optical products, and ULVAC, a Methuen, Mass.-based supplier of production systems, instrumentation, pumps and vacuum components used in the semiconductor, flat panel display, disk/magnetic media and industrial manufacturing markets, announced today an agreement that enables ULVAC to manufacture, supply and service JDSU's ULDiS-200UCP optical coating platform throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The ULDiS-200UCP is a general-purpose system that evolved from Meta-mode technology for coating products in the visible and near-infrared regions of the optical spectrum. Applications include digital imaging, projection displays and custom optics.
