Cedip Awarded Second Contract

Cedip Infrared Systems of Croissy-Beaubourg, France, through its US distributor, Electrophysics, has been awarded, a second contract by Navair Weapons Div. of China Lake, Calif., for seven Emerald MWIR-InSb infrared cameras with an option to purchase an additional one. They will be integrated into the Man Portable Air Defence program designed for the protection of forces. Via special stitching software, each camera will create a 360-degree field of view that can detect shoulder-fired missiles and small-arms fire. The cameras also can detect minute temperature differences at great distances and transmit the information immediately to deployed aircraft for countermeasures. Terms of the deal were not available.
