OSI Systems, Inc., a Hawthorne, Calif., provider of electronic products for security and health-care applications, announced today that its optoelectronics and manufacturing division, OSI Optoelectronics, has received a follow-on contract for approximately $6.3 million from an unnamed medical equipment company to produce proprietary detector electronic subassemblies to be used in an advanced medical computed tomography machine. OSI Optoelectronics will manufacture semiconductor photodiodes at its wafer processing center in Hawthorne; the subsystem detector electronic module will be produced through its Norwegian subsidiary, Advanced Micro Electronics AS. Shipment of the assemblies is expected to be completed by June 30.
