Director Hired for the UK's Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network

The United Kingdom Consortium for Photonics and Optics announced it appointed Alastair Wilson as director of the recently formed Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network, effective Dec. 4. Wilson has been a leading figure in UK photonics for many years; while at Scottish Enterprise, he was instrumental in the creation of a range of initiatives to foster the photonics industry's development. The Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is one of a number of KTNs being sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry. The Photonics KTN is designed to bring together businesses, designers, research and technology organizations, trade associations, the financial market, academia and others across the UK optics and photonics community.
