JDSU Acquiring Casabyte

JDSU announced today it is acquiring Casabyte Inc., a provider of service quality monitoring technology for wireless networks. Financial terms were not disclosed.

JDSU, a maker of communications test and measurement solutions and optical products for the telecommunications industry, said the acquisition will expand its ability to provide network operators with the technology to monitor the quality of voice, data, video and mobile broadband services, also know as "quadruple play" services, beyond fixed-line telecommunications and cable networks.

Casabyte, based outside of Seattle in Renton, Wash., will be integrated into JDSU's Communications Test and Measurement div. after the acquisition is completed, which is expected by March 31.
