FTTH Council Elects New Directors, Chairman

The Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council North America named four new member to its 2007 board of directors at its quarterly meeting last month in San Antonio, Texas, where the nonprofit organization is based. Kathy Harriman, executive vice president responsible for CLEC (competitive local exchange) operations at EPB Telecommunications of Chattanooga, Tenn., was named chairman of the board. Before joining EPB, Harriman held executive positions with Adelphia Business Solutions, Bell South and AT&T. New directors are Robert Campbell, research manager at Charles Machines Works Inc. (CMW), a Perry, Okla., maker of equipment used in the underground installation of pipes and cables, primarily for the deployment of telecommunications lines; Mike Hill, president and CEO of OnTrac Inc., a Talbot, Tenn.-based provide of contract labor services to telecommunications companies; Steve Kemp, vice president of marketing, Alcatel; and Greg Solomon, vice and chief information office for Pulaski Electric Systems of Pulaski, Tenn. Returning board members include Jeffrey Mnick, vice president sales and marketing at GVTC Communications of New Braunfels, Texas; Patrick Sims, subject matter expert for FTTH infrastructures, systems and networks at ADC; James Erickson, president of FiberFirst Minnesota; and Leonard Ray, vice president of  business development at Atlantic Engineering of Braselton, Ga.
