Richard Toftness Joins Vision Research as VP R&D

Vision Research Inc. of Wayne, N.J., a manufacturer of high-speed digital imaging systems used in measurement and entertainment applications, announced the hiring of Richard Toftness as vice president of research and development, responsible for the company's worldwide engineering operations. Before joining Vision Research, Toftness was senior vice president of advanced business development at Xsil Ltd., a semiconductor capital equipment company. Prior to that, he held similar positions at Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Control Data and Motorola and for the US government. Toftness has published numerous papers on semiconductor processing and laser micromachining, has been an invited speaker at industry events and holds five patents for IC circuit design, optical inspection and machine design.
