Coherent and Osram Sign Technology Agreement

Coherent Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., has signed a licensing agreement allowing Osram GmbH of Munich, Germany, to use its optically pumped semiconductor lasers in consumer laser-based projection displays. The license also will enable use of Coherent’s intellectual property to develop and deploy red, blue and green lasers for applications such as projection television and projectors for handheld devices.
