ASTRONOMY FILTERS

Optical filter manufacturer Omega Optical Inc. has launched AstroFilters, an online store for the amateur astronomy community. The product line encompasses four nebula filters: The GCE-DGM Optics galaxy contrast enhancement filter is for the observation of galaxies and Milky Way dust clouds and dark lanes; the VHT-DGM Optics very high throughput type is suitable for telescopes with 4- to 6-in. apertures; the NPB-DGM Optics narrow bandpass filter provides ultrahigh contrast for small and fainter emission and planetary nebula, and for a variety of bright nebula, especially those viewed through larger telescopes. It is complemented by the HPOIII-DGM Optics filter, which offers high transmission and narrow bandwidth.
