KVH Industries Receives Another US Navy Order
KVH Industries Inc. of Middletown, R.I., has received a $2.6 million follow-on order for its TG-6000 fiber optic gyro-based inertial measurement units, which will be used in the US Navy’s MK54 torpedoes. The devices measure both rate and acceleration in three axes, a capacity that is important for the navigation of a torpedo or other platforms. The order represents the first of three options associated with the original contract, which was signed in 2005. Shipments for this option will extend into 2008.
