Mosaid Announces Staff Changes, Considers Selling Semiconductor IP Business

Mosaid Technologies Inc., a provider of intellectual property (IP) and memory test system products and services to the semiconductor industry, today announced the appointment of a new president and CEO, a new board chairman, the resignation of its CFO and that it is considering selling its semiconductor IP product business. Effective immediately, John C. Lindgren was named as the Ottawa, Ontario-based company's new president and CEO. Lindgren succeeds George Cwynar, who has served in the position since 1994, overseeing the company's transition from a semiconductor memory design house and tester manufacturing operation into an intellectual property company. Mosaid also announced the appointment of Carl Schlachte, president and CEO of ARC International, as chairman of the board of directors, effective immediately. Schlachte succeeds Thomas I. Csathy, who has served on Mosaid's board for 16 years. Csathy has served as chairman since 2002. Schlachte said of Lindgren, "(He) is an internationally experienced executive with a track record of success in semiconductor patent licensing and litigation. Since joining Mosaid in November 2006 as senior vice president patent licensing, general counsel and corporate secretary after a 20-year career with Texas Instruments, John has demonstrated the leadership qualities that are required to take Mosaid forward as a focused intellectual property company." Mosaid also announced that Richard D. Boadway, CFO since 1997 and executive vice president since 2003, will be leaving the company, and that Mosaid and its investment bankers are continuing to review the semiconductor IP product business, which designs and licenses semiconductor IP circuit blocks, and could potentially sell it.
