NEC Electronics America Appoints GM for DCC Unit
NEC Electronics America Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., a provider of semiconductor products for the broadband and communication markets, today announced the appointment of Kats Nakazawa as general manager of the company's Digital Consumer and Connectivity (DCC) business unit. Nakazawa joined NEC Corp. in 1979 as an applications engineer and has held engineering and leadership positions spanning a number of product lines in various NEC divisions. Prior to joining NEC Electronics America, he served as general manager of the PC Peripherals Systems Unit and then as assistant general manager of the PC Peripherals Systems Div. for NEC Electronics Corp. Nakazawa also had a four-year assignment at NEC Electronics Europe where he served as the senior manager in charge of coordinating strategies with NEC Electronics Corp. in Japan for digital consumer business in Europe. He also launched the technical marketing and application department at the United Kingdom branch of NEC Electronics Europe, and while there helped establish NEC Electronics' EMMA platform in the digital consumer market.
