Northrop Grumman to Close Massachusetts Facility
Northrop Grumman Corp. will close its Fibersense Technology facility in Canton, Mass. The plant has 160 employees and produces fiber optic gyroscopes. It is tentatively scheduled to close in July. Hardware and production lines are being transferred to the company’s West Coast plants. The company said that optical technicians, fiber optic sensor assembly technicians, electrical technicians and other skilled personnel are seeking alternative employment in Massachusetts.
