NASA Chooses Aurora to Develop Optics
Aurora Design & Technology of Clearwater, Fla., has announced that it will design and develop optics for NASA’s Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite Mission. The mission, scheduled to launch in 2009, aims to confirm the presence or absence of water ice in the shadowed craters on the moon’s poles. The optics will be used to view the ejecta cloud that rises after blasting the floor of one of the craters and to measure the contents of the resulting debris.
