HALF-BALL LENSES

A 12-page document titled “Half Ball Lenses for High Power LED” has been released by Moulded Optics GmbH. Downloadable from the company Web site, the publication provides an introduction to the lenses for LED lighting, which are scratch-resistant, heat-resistant to 300 °C or higher and which have a high refractive index. It details standard, truncated and extended hemisphere lenses in the category sizes of 6-mm diameter/3-mm radius, 5-mm diameter/2.5-mm radius, 4-mm diameter/2-mm radius and 3-mm diameter/1.5-mm radius. It describes the glass types in which the lenses are available, including B270 Superwhite, borosilicate and F2 glass. Charts and diagrams are provided.
