A supplier of photonic design and simulation software, RSoft Design Group Inc. publishes the RSoft Design Group Review newsletter twice a year. The July issue is scheduled to highlight RSoft CAD 8.0, which adds 3-D editing capability and a streamlined design process to the company’s CAD interface. It is expected to cover a new mode expansion tool to accommodate 2- and 3-D scattering problems that are too resource-intensive for finite difference time domain. It also will feature the OptSim optical communications system simulator, including new models of dual-quadrature phase-shift keying transmitters and receivers as well as the MetroWand 3.5 network design software, offering capacity planning and performance design validation for reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers.
