PerkinElmer Awarded Xenon Flashlamp Orders
PerkinElmer Inc. of Waltham, Mass., said it has received multiple orders for mobile-phone flash assemblies using its Xenon-based flash technology, and that it will ramp production in the next year. Xenon flash provides intense but short light discharges, enabling faster shutter speeds than LED flash technology. Commonly used in camera applications such as strobe lightning and high-speed imaging, it enables clear images even in low-light conditions or with moving subjects. David Nislick, president of Specialty Lighting at PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, said, "We will continue to drive advances in our Xenon flash technology to ensure that our global customers are able to meet increased consumer demand for high-quality photography using mobile-phone cameras."
